Two owners of Nashville home charged in house party investigation – NewsChannel5.com

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police detectives have charged the two owners of a home on Fern Avenue with violating public health emergency orders in connection to a recent large house party held at the property.

Police officials issued a press released Tuesday night saying Specialized Investigations Division (SID) detectives swore out arrest warrants for 40-year-old Christopher Eubank and 36-year-old Jeffrey Mathews.

The party was held Aug. 1 as a promotional event for The Fashion House. Hundreds of people showed up to the house for photo shoots and even get tattoos. Mayor Cooper called the party “irresponsible,” said Metro Codes posted a “Stop Use Order” on the property for “illegally operating a commercial business in a residential district.”

Both men were charged with three separate counts, all Class-A misdemeanors, charging them with violating health orders by hosting a gathering in excess of 25 persons, not requiring social distancing, and not requiring face coverings.

A Class-A misdemeanor means they could face a maximum of 11 months and 29 days in jail, with fines of $2,500.

Matthews surrendered to police overnight and was released early Wednesday morning. Police officials said Eubank is out of town but is expected to surrender on the outstanding warrants upon his return to Nashville.
