Clarksville, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Immaculate Conception School is opening the 2019-2020 school year with a newly remodeled gymnasium. After fundraising specifically for the gym in the 2018-2019 school year, Immaculate Conception School was able to complete Phase II of the gym renovation.

Phase I was completed 5 years ago with a new roof. Phase II included a new ceiling, walls and duct system painted and refinishing the wood court to include new striping for five sports.

Upon reopening in 2000, Immaculate Conception School has utilized the gymnasium for physical education classes, daily school lunches, before/after care, musical performances, eighth grade graduation, and special events for the parish and community.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday, August 6 prior to the school’s Back to School Night. Students, parents, school board members and sponsors joined the school faculty to see the gym for the first time since renovation began in May.

Not only will students and school staff benefit from this beautifully remodeled multi-purpose gymnasium, but other parish and community groups will be able to rent a fresh space for their events.

“We couldn’t have done this without the support of the ICS families, staff, school board, and all of the sponsors and benefactors to the school” said ICS Principal, Stephanie Stafford.

ICS is a private Catholic school serving students Kindergarten through Eighth grade located on Madison Street in Clarksville. For more information about Immaculate Conception School, call (931) 645-1865 or click here.
