NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville police investigated a shootout at a gas station that left two people injured Wednesday night.

The shooting was reported at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Love’s Travel Stop on East Trinity Lane.

According to investigators, people from two vehicles were shooting at each other near the gas pumps. Both vehicles drove away from the scene.

Police said minutes after the shooting, a 16-year-old male showed up at Skyline Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his elbow. Then, a 26-year-old man showed up to Centennial Women’s Hospital with three gunshot wounds to his groin area.

He suffered critical injuries and was transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment, police said.

Officers are investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
