THP: Speed to blame in Christiana crash that killed Kane Brown’s drummer Kenny Dixon  Tennessean

Speed appears to be the cause of a single-vehicle crash in Middle Tennessee that left Kane Brown’s drummer dead over the weekend, new information released Monday by state troopers shows.

Kenny Dixon, 27, died in a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 24 east in Christiana, about 40 miles southeast of Nashville, a preliminary report released by the Tennessee Highway Patrol shows.

The wreck took place about 12:45 a.m. Saturday near mile marker 88 and no one else was injured in the crash.

According to a preliminary THP crash report, Dixon was driving a 2016 KIA RIO LX east  in the right lane on I-24 at a high rate of speed when the vehicle exited off the right side of the roadway approximately 100 yards.

The vehicle then struck a tree head on.

Dixon, who was from Rocky Face, Ga., was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where troopers say he was pronounced dead.

No criminal charges have been filed in the case and neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected to be a factor in the crash, THP Lt. Charlie Caplinger said Monday.
