The Pick: It’s finally ‘Country Music’ week in Nashville  The Tennessean

Want more than country? Rock staples are set to play Pilgrimage, and we recap our AmericanaFest favorites.

Yes, Nashville … it’s finally “Country Music” time. The 16-hour Ken Burns documentary epic outlining the history of Nashville’s finest export debuted earlier this week on PBS. Miss the first four episodes of “Country Music”? Want to relive the historical excursion? Either way, we’ve got you covered with episode recaps, one-off takeaways and archival photos. Now, for more on what’s spinning in Nashville.

Foo Fighters! The Killers! Keith Urban!

It’s Pilgrimage time again in Middle Tennessee. The fifth annual music and cultural festival returns this weekend to Franklin, bringing three of the aforementioned leading names in rock and country to Williamson County. Head here for everything you need to know about the two-night event.

Come back, AmericanaFest

The annual showcase for leading names in country, soul and traditional rock ‘n’ roll took residency in Nashville last week, where more than 300 acts performed in theaters, clubs and backyards. Now, we didn’t see every act that performed (sadly), but here’s the best of what we did manage to catch during the fest.

Noise from Nashville

  • Darius Rucker, Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley and more rallied in Nashville this week to help Hurricane Dorian victims in the Bahamas.
  • Megadeth legend and Nashville-based guitarist Dave Mustaine shared on Tuesday a positive throat cancer update.

  • Sunday: Don’t miss Foo Fighters at the above-mentioned Pilgrimage Festival.

Welcome back, Thai Esane
