NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say a woman who was shot during a deadly robbery in Madison has admitted to being part of the plan.

Metro police have charged 20-year-old Ashley A. Garcia with criminal homicide in the shooting death of 20-year-old Eric Jauregui.

The shooting call went out just after 3 p.m. Wednesday at a shopping center in the 100 block of Gallatin Pike North. Investigators said Jauregui was targeted by a group of people who planned to rob him of marijuana and a gun.

At some point, shots were fired inside his vehicle, hitting Jauregui and Garcia.

Both were taken to the hospital. Jauregui died of his injuries, while Garcia survived. Police said she’ll be booked into the Metro Jail when she’s discharged from Skyline Medical Center.
