Nominate now for The Tennessean’s I AM SPORT award – Tennessean

The Tennessean regularly recognizes prep athletes who are impact players on the field. 

Now we are looking for the athletes who are making differences off the field. The nomination period for the I AM SPORT Award has started. The winner will be announced at the fifth annual Tennessean Sports Awards held May 29 at Music City Center.

Nashville area athletes who give back to their community are eligible and we want to know about it to honor you.

If you’re a coach, teacher or parent who has witnessed the civic-mindedness of an athlete, please let us know about them.

Here is how the process will work. 

• The nomination period closes at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21. Nominations must be submitted online.
• The voting period for all nominees will be from 10:59 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 to 8 a.m. Monday, March 2. 
• All nominees will be invited to the show. The three finalists will be announced during  the show. The winner also will be announced during the show and called to the stage to receive the trophy.
