NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Nashville Rescue Mission is asking for bottled water donations as temperatures across Middle Tennessee reach the lower 90s.
Rev. Glenn Cranfield, president and CEO of the Nashville Rescue Mission, said the organization is nearly out of water. He said they need at least 144,000 bottles of water to make it through the summer.
“We need the community’s help in gearing up for what I anticipate being a difficult summer for our city’s homeless community,” he said.
Cranfield said, between their two campuses, the Mission serves more than 800 men, women and children a day.
When temperatures reach 92 degrees and above, the Mission sends out its Hot Patrol Van to local parks and other areas around town to hand out cold bottles of water.
The Mission’s Donation Center is located 616 7th Avenue South. It’s open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can also make a donation online.
