Outdoor Nashville programs

Outdoor Nashville has announced its fall outing schedule, which includes an affordable evening kayak paddle and a stand-up paddleboarding morning at the lake.

Here are the details: The evening kayak paddle, for ages 8 and older, is 5 p.m. to dusk Sept. 18 starting at Hamilton Creek Park on Percy Priest Lake. The first 15 minutes will be instruction and then you can paddle until dark. The cost is $15, and all equipment is provided.

If you want to give stand-up paddleboarding a try, Outdoor Nashville is offering basic instruction and all equipment for $15 a person (ages 10 and older) from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 26 at Hamilton Creek Park on Percy Priest Lake.

Humphreys County Yard Sale

Every year individuals and groups from all over Humphreys County clean out their houses, barns, sheds and closets, then set up tents and tables for the annual Humphreys County Yard Sale, which is Friday and Saturday.

These family, civic group and community yard sales wind along Highway 70 from McEwen to New Johnsonville and from Exit 143 on Interstate 40 along Highway 13 North to downtown Waverly.

This is the 19th year for the sale, which usually features more than 100 vendors around the county.
