McFly Launches ‘Hometown Strong’
CUMULUS MEDIA Country WSM-F (95.5 NASH ICON) morning host MARTY MCFLY has launched new charitable organization HOMETOWN STRONG, which supports philanthropic projects benefiting communities across MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
MCFLY kicked off the new organization by hosting a benefit event, “Shop With A Cop,” in his hometown of SPARTA, TN. Partnering with SPARTA YMCA and the SPARTA Police Department, the program will connect local children in need with the city’s police for a free holiday shopping trip during the CHRISTMAS season.
To help fund “Shop With A Cop,” a benefit motorcycle ride will take place on OCTOBER 19th at 11a (CT) at PEARSON PARK in SPARTA. Riders participating in “MARTY MCFLY’s Blue Light Ride” will receive an event t-shirt and admission to a cookout at BOSWELL’s COUNTRY ROADS HARLEY DAVIDSON. The first 50 registered participants will also receive tickets to the ALCATRAZ EAST CRIME MUSEUM in PIGEON FORGE, TN.
MCFLY said, “Growing up in a great hometown of SPARTA was the inspiration for the name ‘HOMETOWN STRONG.’ Good things start and happen in a person’s hometown — neighbors helping neighbors. I’m just jumping in and shining a light on what those people can and are doing.”
