Flooding and severe weather possible across the Southeast next week NewsChannel5.com
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Sunday is the first day of March. And right on cue our weather pattern, it looks to flip to much more ‘spring-like’ starting Sunday through the middle of next week.
Along with spring-like temperatures, will come a chance for spring-like storms across the Southeast, including a risk for severe weather from the Gulf coast of Louisiana through the Arklamiss region next Tuesday.
Along with the chance for strong to severe storms, there will also be a flood threat Tuesday and Wednesday as heavy rain works it’s way up the swollen Mississippi (and other water-ways across the Southeast). Early estimates for our area are 2″-4″ from Monday through early Wednesday. This range will be adjusted over the next few days as the nitty-gritty of this next weather system comes into better focus.
Bottom line, enjoy the sunshine and warmth on Sunday then be ready for a bumpy and water-logged start to next week, including heavy rain potential for super Tuesday voting.
