Orion Martin

DANBURY – North Stokes’ senior Orion Martin was a three-sport athlete during his time with the Vikings. He was a four-year member of the wrestling team, played football for three years, and track and field for two.

He improved each year while on the wrestling team. Martin was 0-8 during his freshman season, won 10 matches his sophomore year, and combined to win 48 matches over the next two years. He was a three-time all-county and Northwest 1A All-Conference wrestler by finishing second in the 220 pound weight class his junior season and placed third his sophomore and senior years. He missed out on making the NCHSAA Individual State Championship by losing in the third round of the consolation finals the last two years before breaking through this past season with a fourth place medal in the 1A West Regionals.
