Body found in Cumberland River in West Nashville – WKRN News 2

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The body of a woman was found in the Cumberland River on Saturday afternoon.

Rescue crews launched their boats from Cleeces Ferry boat ramp on Cleeces Ferry Road in West Nashville.

Officials confirmed to News 2 that the body of a woman was found by a jet skier in the water. The woman had a laceration on her body.

Police are still trying to identify the woman. She is described as a black woman and appears to be in her 40s. She was nude and has a ying/yang tattoo with wings on her left shoulder. She was also wearing a turquoise elephant earring.

Her cause of death has yet to be determined.
