August 16 COVID-19 update: 133,708 total cases, 1,366 deaths in Tennessee – NewsChannel5.com
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 1,961 additional COVID-19 cases Sunday, along with 21 new deaths.
This brings the state to 133,708 total cases since the pandemic began, including 1,366 deaths.
There have been 5,847 hospitalizations and 92,655 recoveries reported.

Earlier today Metro health officials reported 107 new COVID-19 cases, bringing Davidson County’s total number of cases ever reported to 24,143.
Of the total number of cases, 24,067 are confirmed and 21,095 Nashvillians are now considered recovered from the virus. As of August 16, there are 2,837 active cases in Metro Nashville.
One additional coronavirus-related death was reported on Sunday, a 23-year-old man with existing health conditions. Metro health officials have attributed a total of 211 deaths to COVID-19.

Over the last week, the Tennessee Health Department has reported lower daily new cases, but the state had a record-breaking week in new hospitalizations reported.
