CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Austin Peay State University is adding a new pregame football experience prior to kickoff each week at Fortera Stadium in 2019.

The athletics department has announced the launch of Stache Street, which will premiere prior to the Governors’ Aug. 29 season opener against North Carolina Central.

The new Stache Street will take over Marion Street in front of Fortera Stadium and the Foy Fitness Center, which will be closed prior to each home game during the season. Austin Peay fans can look forward to strolling Stache Street while enjoying a myriad of food truck options and inflatable games.

“Stache Street is going to be another exciting area for our fans to enjoy before every game,” Governors Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison said. “Last year, I saw first-hand how much our fans enjoyed Tailgate Alley. Our team went to the drawing board looking for another way to build on that enthusiasm and with the cooperation of the City of Clarksville I believe we have found it.”

Stache Street will be filled with vendors including the Kona Ice of Greater Clarksville, Legends Smokehouse BBQ, Dos Margaritas Taco Truck, PJ’s NY City Dogs and Hibachi4Hire.

Prior to the 7 p.m. August 29 kickoff against North Carolina Central, Austin Peay athletics will work with Campus Police to close parking along Marion Street beginning at 3 p.m.. Stache Street will open at 4 p.m. and will remain open until 30 minutes before kickoff.
