NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say a 73-year-old man was hit and killed overnight after he stumbled and fell onto the road.
The collision happened around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at Dickerson Pike and Grizzard Avenue, not far from Trinity Lane.
Metro police say Robert L. Woods, of Madison, was walking south on Dickerson Pike when he fell onto the roadway and was hit. He was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where he died.
The driver told police he was unable to avoid the collision. Investigators say he showed no indications of impairment.
