Earlier today Metro Nashville reported 517 new cases of the coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

The news came in a tweet from Mayor John Cooper Saturday morning.

“We have 14,319 confirmed #COVID19 cases in Davidson County as of today, an increase of 517 in the past 24 hours. Please continue to follow our #RoadmapforReopening Nashville plan and help us keep our community safe.”

Of those total 14, 319 cases, more than 9,000 have recovered, leaving 5,117 active cases of the virus.

This comes after more than two weeks of increases in daily cases reported, leading many health officials concerned about plans to reopen and on the available number of hospital beds.
