Robber shot during restaurant hold-up dies from injuries  NewsChannel5.com

Metro Nashville police said a man who was shot while trying to rob a Nashville restaurant late Thursday night died of his injuries.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — For the second time in a week, Metro Nashville police are investigating after a would-be robber was shot by their intended victim. This time, police said the suspected robber died of his injuries.

According to police, a gunman tried to rob Knock Out Wings on Jefferson Street at about 10 p.m. Thursday.

A person in the location pulled out a gun and shot the suspected robber multiple times, investigators said.

The suspect ran off, but police found him later in the 3100 block of Elm Hill Pike. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

On Tuesday night, police investigated a similar shooting on Hickory Hollow Parkway in Antioch .

Officers said a man tried to rob someone at an ATM, but the intended target pulled out his own gun and shot the suspect multiple times. The suspect survived his injuries.
