Rhea Lana’s franchise hosting children’s consignment sale in Franklin – Tennessean

Rhea Lana’s franchise hosting children’s consignment sale in Franklin  Tennessean

Just when many of the fall children’s consignment sales made the tough decision to postpone their late summer events, a new consignment sale has popped into Middle Tennessee and is kicking off its first sale this weekend.

The Rhea Lana’s summer and back-to-school sale will take place July 19-25, at 1010 Columbia Ave., in Franklin, next to the old Our Thrift store.

Local sale organizer Jo Anna Robold expects to have about 50 consignors, with a split of 60-70% to the consignor and 30-40% to the sale. She also has some new merchandise, like strollers and other equipment from the Joovy company, that will be about half of the suggested retail price.

“I know a lot of the sales are not happening because of COVID and we are getting a little bit of a buzz. I hope people will check us out,” Robold said.

The public sale opens Sunday, and there is a presale on Saturday with admission tickets shoppers can purchase, as well as some free presale passes select shoppers can get through social media. There is also a window of free early shopping for new moms, military and health care workers.

Rhea Lana’s is a national franchise, with franchisees like Robold selling gently used upscale children’s and maternity items on consignment.

The company has grown from a living room in Conway, Arkansas 20 years ago to now having more than 100 locations in 23 states.

Robold said Rhea Lana’s specializes in consignment of boutique and name-brand clothing, toys, baby equipment and furniture for children and moms-to-be at a fraction of the retail price.

Robold and her husband moved from Arkansas to the Nashville area in 2018.

“I decided to bring my favorite consignment event with us,” she said.

If you want to consign, download the Rhea Lana’s app, email Robold at joanna@rhealana.com or register at rhealana.com. Consigning details and updates can also be found on the Rhea Lana’s Facebook page.

“The current pandemic has created a greater need for some families to stretch their budgets, and we are thankful to be able to offer them an opportunity to do that while still feeling great about the items they are purchasing for their children,” Robold said.

She said this sale will focus on summer and fall items for children. She hopes to have a second sale in late October or early November with fall and winter lines.

Rhea Lana’s “Gives Back” includes donating children’s items to nonprofit organizations that directly give to families in need, including local foster families.

Public sale dates are July 19-25. For times and other details, see franklin.rhealana.com.
