NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Storm 5 Alert issued ahead of a cold front that brought strong storms into the region.

The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for Davidson County. Some drivers tried to drive through the high water, and not all of them made it out the other side.

This video on Morrow Road under the I-40 bridge shows one car getting through standing water but stalling out on the other side.

Power outages were reported in Nashville when the storms kicked up around 3:30 p.m. At its peak, 13,299 Nashville Electric Service outages were reported.

In La Vergne, strong winds tossed a homeowner’s garage into his neighbors backyard.

Also in La Vergne, trees fell onto the road at the 200 block of Clearkake Drive. Viewer, Thomas Carrillo, was able to snap a couple pictures of the damage.

Wilson County emergency crews responded to the area of Coles Ferry Pike and Cairo Bend Road where a tree fell across the road. A tree also completely blocked Old Hunters Point Pike at the 1400 block.

A hangar at the Lebanon Municipal Airport was downed by strong winds.

Nathan Douglas reported power lines were on the road and a large tree was uprooted in Creive Hall.
