NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Police are investigating a fatal shooting on Alameda Street on the Tennessee State University campus.
Investigators say 19-year-old Rickey Scott was rushed to Centennial Medical Center around noon. He was later transferred to Skyline Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
He was shot in the stomach. Police say they’re still not sure exactly how or why he was shot. The investigation is ongoing.
TSU issued the following statement on the situation:
“We are heartbroken by this loss and we grieve with the young man’s family and friends. In times like these, we must come together and support each other as one university community. It is extremely important that if anyone has information to please report it to campus police immediately.”
