NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Nashville has seen a double-digit job growth in the past five years. But with all that growth, how many renters can actually afford to comfortably live here?
According to SmartAsset , residents have to earn at least $64,286 a year to afford a two-bedroom apartment, which is about $1,500 a month.
A USA Today report says the median household income in the Nashville area is $63,939 — that includes Davidson County, Murfreesboro and Franklin.
Even though rent prices remain high, Nashville’s job and population growth are booming.
Music City is one of half a dozen metro areas to see an employment growth of 20% or more over the past five years, USA Today reported — that’s 194,000 more people working in Nashville than in 2014.
