Future Buckeyes excel led by Christman, Jackson and LB trio – 247Sports
After every weekend during the football season Bucknuts wraps up the weekend that was in high school football focusing on those who will continue their careers playing for the Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes have 19 commitments total for their 2021 recruiting class and six commitments for their 2022 recruiting class. A number of those 25 total commitments, many were in action over the weekend.
There were some outstanding performances and some big wins for the teams of several of the Ohio State commitments including Ben Christman, Donovan Jackson, and linebackers Gabe Powers, Dasan McCullough and C.J. Hicks.

After trailing 14-6, Massillon (Ohio) Washington rallied with a fourth quarter touchdown to defeat Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius 21-14. Jayden Ballard caught two passes for 16 yards and had a 2-point conversion.
Richfield (Ohio) Revere defeated Westlake (Ohio) 21-0. Ben Christman had an excellent game including leading an offense that accumulated 350 yards and 21 first downs – 16 rushing. Christman played over 100 snaps. He had seven “pancake” blocks, three solo tackles, three assists and a forced fumble.
The West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West (OL Tegra Tshabola and DB Jyaire Brown) game against Cincinnati (Ohio) Oak Hills was cancelled because Oak Hills had some Covid-19 cases.
Streetsboro (Ohio) moved to 5-0 with a 63-14 win over Ravenna (Ohio). Defensive tackle Mike Hall did not play because of a broken hand he sustained a week and a half ago. However, he has been given the green light to play next Friday with his hand wrapped in foam.
Ironton (Ohio) defeated Chesapeake (Ohio) 58-10. Reid Carrico played in the first half only because of the lopsided score, but still gained a whopping 190 yards and had three touchdowns on just six carries.
Kettering (Ohio) Alter defeated Cincinnati (Ohio) McNicholas 28-7 to improve to 3-2 this season. C.J.Hicks had another very good game with 10 tackles including two sacks and he forced a fumble.
Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth lost to Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell 31-21. Safety Andre Turrentine had another good game with seven tackles including one for loss and four catches for 48 yards.
Bowling Green (Ky.) South Warren defeated Glasgow (Ky.) 36-0 to move to 2-0. Jantzen Dunn has had a quad strain and has not yet been cleared to play.

Ohio State Commitments Who Won’t Play This Fall
Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph (QB Kyle McCord and WR Marvin Harrison Jr.). The Philadelphia Catholic League will not have prep football this fall.
Hopewell (Va.) Hopewell (RB TreVeyon Henderson). The state of Virginia will not have prep football this fall.
Cornelius (N.C.) Hough (RB Evan Pryor). The state of North Carolina will not have prep football this fall.
Aurora (Col.) Cherokee Trail (TE Sam Hart). The state of Colorado will not have prep football this fall.
Pickerington North (DE Jack Sawyer) has decided not to play football this fall and instead is getting ready for early enrollment at Ohio State.
Manassas (Va.) Unity Reed (DL Tyleik Williams). The state of Virginia will not have prep football this fall.
Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett (DB Jordan Hancock) has decided not to play football this fall and instead is getting ready for early enrollment at Ohio State.
Australian punter Jesse Mirco is getting ready to enrol at Ohio State in January.
