Parent Resources
In addition to volunteering time, if you are a parent of a student in Nashville Public Schools, there are many ways you can get involved, including donating goods and/or money, or supporting advocacy efforts. Here are some additional resources for ways parents of Metro Nashville Public Schools students can make a difference.
Metro Schools’ “Parental Involvement” page has information about how you can get engaged at the district level, school level, classroom level and more. Learn about PTOs/PTAs, Cluster Groups and the Parent Advisory Council by clicking here or calling (615) 259-INFO.
Metro Schools’ “School and Family Liaisons” page is another helpful resource for parents. Click here for school and family liaisons, NCLB resources, parental involvement links, professional development, cluster events, parent newsletters and more.
Nashville Parent University, a partnership between Metro Nashville Public Schools and Alignment Nashville, is designed to support parents/caregivers as their child’s most important educator. Parent University offers regular trainings on subjects such as how to support students earning a high school diploma, promoting healthy living, understanding new curriculum standards, and how to help with homework. To learn more about Parent University, click here, or call (615) 585-8497.
