• Hume-Fogg CONNECTION Kick-Off Breakfast
  Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet School is celebrating their academic success with a breakfast on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
• Nashville Singers Supports Music Education
  Nashville Singers is a nonprofit performing arts organization that is committed to supporting music education in public schools and the community by providing funding and other resources.
• Nashville After Zone Alliance Offers Volunteer Opportunities
  Mayor Karl Dean and Metro Schools partnered in 2010 to launch a new network called the Nashville After Zone Alliance, which provides fun, enriching activities for middle school students outside of classroom time.
• Two Metro Students Selected for National Leadership Program
  Two Metro Nashville Public Schools students have been selected to participate in Bank of America's Student Leader program. This national leadership development program provides students with valuable perspective on civic, social and business partnerships as positive forces of change within communities.

  A profile of Jeff Gregg, who recently received the E. Bronson Ingram award from the PENCIL Foundation in recognition of his many years of volunteer work in Metro Schools.

  BRAVO! is an annual event to honor PENCIL Partners and volunteers for their work in Metro Nashville Public Schools.
• Students are 'Believing and Achieving' in Edgehill
  So often, we are bombarded by negative reports and images of Metro students, making it critical to highlight the success stories. Lorraine Stallworth, family/school liaison for MNPS Hillsboro Cluster, started the Believing and Achieving program to celebrate student accomplishments.
• Tennessee Bank & Trust supports Metro art students
  In an effort to showcase the creative minds of Metro art students, Tennessee Bank & Trust decided to take a unique approach to the idea of giving back to the community. This year’s Client Appreciation Event included an art display with work from students of both Hillsboro and Hillwood high schools.
• Bellevue art students participate in mural project
  A partnership between Bellevue Middle School, Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, Bellevue Exchange Club and local muralist Michael Cooper resulted in a community art project that transformed a bridge into a neighborhood landmark.

  This spot, originally created as a television commercial, explains the benefits of volunteering with Metro Nashville Public Schools.
